An 8051 MCU IP core, claimed to be the world’s fastest, has been introduced by DCD. Boasting a Dhrystone 2.1 performance rating of 0.27292 DMIPS/MHz, the DQ8051 IP core is 29.01 times faster than the original 80C51 chip operating at the same frequency. In addition, the IP core consumes as a little as 1.2µW/MHz. The closest competitor is 26 times faster than the original 80C51 chip and consumes almost two times more power than the DQ8051.

On June 3rd, 2013 at the Design Automation Conference hosted in Austin, Texas, ARM officially announces its invitation for Nuvoton Technology to become its first university program partner, located in the Asia Pacific region. As part of the DAC proceedings, ARM will feature Nuvoton’s ARM Cortex-M microcontroller learning and development platform in demonstrations.

The embedded
 design generally adopts parallel structural system in the past; however, serial structural system is used for modern embedded design, namely continuous sending bus data. Not only is the circuit board space smaller and cost reducing, but power requirement is lower through embedded clock.
